My cat would always try to slip out of the detachable collars, but never has been bothered by the beastie bands. I can slide his metal name plate through the band as well! They last about 9 months before they start to fray a little, but the velcro never has come undone. I feel comfortable that he could slip out if he were ever caught on anything dangerous however. The patterns are awesome, and everyone always remarks on how stylish he looks!
